This class offers an introduction to working with borosilicate glass (pyrex) through the creation of pendants made on a torch.

Basic bead making techniques will be covered. Learn about safe and proper handling of equipment, tools and materials as well as developing good shapes, pulling stringer and applying surface decoration. By the end of class you will have created several of your own glass beads..

Students will work with cutting and shaping techniques and designing with color, and will then discuss utilizing powders, frits, pixels and other surface layer applications. Upon completion of the class, each student will have designed and created a small slumped platter, and will have a basic understanding of glass fusing.
