ART ACTIVITY DAYS

Saturdays, 11 am—2 pm

Five dollar suggested donation per family or adult & child. Children must be accompanied by an adult and adult participation is encouraged.

March 3: Glass try-it
Try your hand at glass and make a glass magnet ($8 each). Also, make a mosaic tile. 

April 14: Celebrate Springtime
Make a glass flower tile to celebrate Spring ($10 each) and other fun springtime activities.
Be the first to view Ricky Bernstein’s “Kitchen Dreams” and see the fun “illustrations” he makes with glass.

May 5: Celebrating Mother’s Day
Make a glass pendant for your Mom ($8 each) and other creative Mother’s Day activities.

June 9:  Happy Days at The Museum
In conjunction with our exhibition, Kitchen Dreams by Ricky Bernstein, we will kick off the summer with a 1950’s inspired family fundraiser on the back lawn of Bergstrom-Mahler Museum. Join us for art activities—including a portrait glass activity ($10 each)—ice cream, glass egg races, a 1950’s best costume contest, an “I spy” activity through the exhibit, food and more. All proceeds benefit programming at Bergstrom-Mahler Museum.  

Sunday, July 15, 10:00 am–3:30 pm Bergstrom-Mahler Museum Arts Festival
Join us at the Children’s Art Activity Tent for a variety of art activities including a fused glass flower planter decoration ($10 each), children’s entertainment, face-painting, a scavenger hunt through the museum and more.

August 11, Catching Summer Fun
Celebrate the last few weeks of summer by creating a mini-sun catcher out of glass ($10 each).
Other art activities that reflect summer will be also be available to make-and-take.

Ricky Bernstein's Kitchen Dreams

Step into a comical world of 1950's pop culture with Ricky Bernstein's Kitchen Dreams. Using glass, aluminum and childhood memories, artist Ricky Bernstein pieces together everyday life through a caricature of social roles and cultural icons. Bernstein's life-sized collages animate a bold, bright, somewhat surreal world, bound to bring you a good belly laugh.
