Contemporary Glass

Harvey LittletonSince Wisconsin was home to the first Studio Glass program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, it's fitting that our Wisconsin glass museum should have a fine display of pieces representing achievements in this art form.

Studio Glass Movement fathers Harvey Littleton and Dominick Labino are represented, as well as influential artists such as Dale Chihuly, Marvin Lipofsky, Joel Philip Myers, William Carlson, and Ginny Ruffner. The collection also includes pieces by regional artists Audrey Handler, Michael Meilahn, and Wes Hunting. Bergstrom-Mahler Museum's collection numbers more than fifty pieces, with the majority generously donated by enthusiastic glass collectors Don and Carol Wiiken. The entire collection is displayed annually, with selected pieces displayed individually throughout the year.
