Covered Goblet Large funnel shaped bowl on a tall stem. Bowl finely painted in Schwarzlot (black enameling) with three medallions surrounded by German inscriptions relating to vanity and to the fleeting nature of time. Domed cover is painted with three small vignettes containing the same symbols as in the medallions: hourglass, skulls, and a crown over clouds. Gift of Mrs. Ernst Mahler, 1979 |
