Christine Stankard Kressley Stankard Kressley is a product of her father's tutelage, the lampwork master Paul Stankard. Like him, she derives her inspiration from nature. For this piece she carefully studied cornflower blossoms to achieve the realistic likeness present here.
The original was commissioned in a limited edition by Bergstrom-Mahler Museum to commemorate the 2005 PCA Convention, but Stankard Kressley added a signature Stankard Studios bee and a pale blue ground that echoes the blue of the blossom and bud to make this one-of-a-kind piece. Her "CSK" signature cane is in the base of the piece. |
